Another short example of a charm from a German book. This one is interesting, as it’s closer to the early medieval astrological image magic from the Picatrix and Thabit ibn Qurra than it is to the bulk of German charms.
Whoever wishes to banish and drive away all thieves from his house, make a bronze image of a man when Aries appears for the first time and Luna is located in it. He must, however, by making the image, however, said:
Through this image I banish and drive away all thieves and murderers for eternity.
He then wraps the image taken in a black cloth and buries it in the middle of the house, so as long as it is buried in that place not a thief or murderer comes into the same house.
