About a year and a half ago, I posted about a forthcoming publication from the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft, a transcription of an early 20th century book of magic titled Rún. Here’s the blurb from their site:
The tradition to copy manuscripts of old material lived among the general public in Iceland into the 20th century. The book of magic published here was copied by hand on a small farm in Iceland, Strandir district, in 1928 and gives an excellent example of the magic, which survived ever since such manuscripts were presented in 17th century courts. A book full of magic, secret signs and alphabets.
The book is a photocopy of the manuscript with a translation in English.
The book is now available from their website. I’ve placed my order, and I’m looking forward to its arrival.
